Splinter Weapon is still a powerful skill in PvE in its current form - if we're going to be handing out buffs, there are other skills, attributes, and entire professions that could use them more. Rather than buffing a skill that already sees heavy use even in higher-end play, I'd rather the developers put some effort into making some of the skills that nobody uses at least worth considering.

If the devs are lame enough to keep SF and give 600 whiners back their MoR, then I don't see why they shouldn't give this back.

The funny thing is that there isn't VoD anymore, I don't see why the skill isn't simply unnerfed period.

No. It was changed because it made farming NPC's at VoD easy. Of course the problem wasn't spliter, it was the fact that the NPC's all balled up. Then after taking AoE damage, rather than spreading out they started to use their defensive skill, the 3 second activating troll unguent.
There isn't anymore VoD. Revert spliter weapon period.

There is a difference between strong, and too strong. Splinter Weapon currently is strong. Before hand it was too strong. I agree it was fun to use and see the huge numbers, but it was also overpowered. Although I thought the MoR nerf was too harsh for PvE, I don't think it should have been left alone. Minor nerfs like the one Splinter Weapon received are the way all nerfs should be handled. Notice how much Splinter Weapon is still used and you will see that despite the nerf, it is still a great skill.

Luckily, I know how tongue in cheek Shayne Hawke and you are being.
It's not that we want these things buffed. But if A.net doesn't give a ^$E^@^ about balancing anymore, why should we?

I'd like to see splinter weapon changed so it doesn't count how many target it hits, but make it have a shorter duration so it can't be kept up all the time without having a seriously high spawning power. THAT sound seem fairly balanced. maybe even reduce the damage a little bit just to keep it less OP.

Now that I think about it, this might make barrage rangers semi useful again.

He's not asking for a skill to be changed. He's asking for the change to the skill to be removed.

During the terrible VoD fortressway meta, Spliter weapon was one of the few skills that rewarded good play and punished poor positioning. It was nerfed for VoD farm, nothing more. The same VoD farm that iQ regularly brought glyph sac meteorshower to farm. Currently Spliter weapon is just not worth bringing, that is not a strong skill.

I have no problems with Splinter Weapon. I think it's fine the way it is.

PvE wise it's massively powerful. 150+ armor ignoring damage every 0.866 seconds (assuming a 1.33 second attack with 33% IAS) is heaps.

Splinter barrage would destroy mobs in seconds, along with making extremely powerful PvE spike builds that would probably break the game's elite areas even more than they are already broken. /Signed

/signed for reverting all pve skills
Because scrubbies don't give a rat's ass about balance and AN doesn't care about breaking pve. They don't even pretend.

If that'd be imbalanced you'd see monsters whining on guru.
